North Africa..."Yamaha Tassili Adventure"
unique dirt bike tours across the Sahara! 

This off-road tour will take you through the heart of Tassili N'Ajjer, a National Park protected by UNESCO and classified as a Biosphere reserve, containing the most beautiful and diversified ancient paintings in the Sahara. The Park is located in the most southeastern part of Algeria in the Sahara Desert of Africa. You will visit the Tènèrè, the Tadrart and the piedmont of the Tassili plateau. The scenery is stunning for hundreds of miles! The main danger is euphoria while riding.

This is an off-road tour on dirt bikes and quads prepared by Yamaha Motor France. The riding is mainly on packed sand with some dune crossing. Freewheeling sessions are organized during various stops in the spectacular course where you can climb and play in gigantic sand dunes that can be 300 yards high.
Support trucks and vehicles will carry your luggage, gasoline and food. You will ride lightweight dirt bikes and quads with standard fuel tanks so that you can really have fun. Non-riders are welcome, and can ride with our Tuareg guides in four-wheel drive vehicles. You will relax each evening at the billion-star hotel at camp around the campfire, and eat wonderful local food cooked especially for you.

TOUR DIFFICULTY
Off-road on hard packed sand, trails, sand-dune crossing. Not too technical. The Sahara can be exhilarating, but it is also treacherous if you lose your concentration and discipline.  This is NOT a race, it is a discovery trip.
- Some off-road riding experience required
- Ability to pace oneself and ride in a group

Once you've completed your booking, you will receive a general map and tour book with the day by day routing.  During the tour, you will be invited to join a daily briefing, when you will receive detailed maps of the daily route.

Travel warnings for Algeria: 
In summary the area is safe, the country has calmed down. The violence has always been in the North. The Sahara and especially Djanet, Tamanrasset and Timimoun have never seen any violence. This season we have had groups of 8-12 people arriving every week since November, with no problems whatsoever.

Day 1:
Arrival in Algeria / Africa


Day 2:

Djanet - Mt. Tiska
 (60 miles)
bike inspection and hand-over, ride to Mount Tiska for the first camp. 
Type of terrain: Flat sandy terrain

Day 3:

Mt. Tiska
Ride to Alidema, lunch break, freewheeling in Alidema. Ride to entrance of Tadrart.  
Type of terrain: Sandy Trails, sand dunes

Day 4:

Alidema - In Djerane (90 miles)
Ride to canyon of In Djerane, lunch break, freewheeling. Ride to Moul Naga, freewheeling in Moul Naga.  
Type of terrain: Sandy Trails, sand dunes

Day 5: 
In Djerane - Moul'Naga (90 miles)
Ride to Tadrart rock cathedrals, lunch break. Ride to Moul'Naga, freewheeling in Moul'Naga.  
Type of terrain: Sandy Trails, sand dunes

Day 6:
Moul'Naga - Alidema
Ride to Tadrart great arches, lunch break. Ride to in Djerane. Ride to and freewheeling in Alidema. 
Type of terrain: Sandy Trails, sand dunes

Day 7: 
Alidema  
Ride on the TĒnĒre to the Balise Berliet 21 and 22, lunch break in Tiska. Freewheeling in Erg Admer. 
Type of terrain: Sandy Trails, sand dunes

Day 8: 
Erg Admer - Tigharart  (120 miles)
Ride to Essendilene. Camp and freewheeling in Ticoubaouine. Turkish Bath and souvenir shopping in Djanet (crying cow). Camp in Tigharart. 
Type of terrain: Sandy terrain

Day 9: 
Departure
Airport transfer in the morning for departure.
