Romania..."Transylvanian Alps Tour"
This spectacular tour leads you along the major chain of the Carpathians (the Transylvanian Alps). Besides the chance to explore breathtaking mountain scenery and the misty dark forests, this tour also provides the opportunity to discover the magic of the unique multi-ethnic Transylvanian culture and tradition. And, of course, there are the roads themselves - long, twisty roads with gorgeous views; perfect for the motorcycle enthusiast.
Most of the tour takes place on curvy paved roads, country and forest roads, and high mountain roads. Some of the more rural locations are poorly paved, so some experience is required. However, the scenery, caves, high mountain lakes, snowy peaks, and remote villages are well worth the effort.
We encourage group riding for this tour, as it tends to be more enjoyable. Passengers are also welcome - and riding two up has proven to be no problem for experienced riders. To encourage group riding, we offer discounts for groups with four or more riders. The best bikes for this tour are dual sports, touring enduro, and sport touring, of 400-800 cc or better. We have found that BMW F650GS and similar bikes are the best suited to these tour conditions.
